Welcome to Racin' Rags Ragdolls
Catch One If You Can!

The Ragdoll is a man-made breed of cats.
It was invented in California by a lady named Ann Baker over 30 years ago.

Master Grand Champion
Racin' Rags The Bandit

Lilac point bicolor male

Contrary to some tales, they are not a cross of several pedigree breeds, but have very humble roots. The parents of the first Ragdolls were a white semi-long haired female, Josephine, a seal mitted male, Daddy Warbucks and a black female, Buckwheat. All were part of a group of outdoor cats owned by Ann's neighbors. Through selective breeding Ann created a pointed breed that came in three patterns, colorpoint, mitted, and bicolor.
Some breeders through outcrossing have added the lynx pattern and red colors in recent years. Here at Racin' Rags we only work with the original colors and patterns, now called Traditional.
   R
agdolls are a large breed of cat. Males can be 15+ pounds, females are usually about 5 pounds less. They are very relaxed and loving. Ragdolls bond closely with their humans. They follow you around like puppy dogs, some will even play fetch. They have plush mat resistant coats and lovely blue eyes.

You have to experience the breed to appreciate the wonderful qualities they posses.
They are lovely to look at, but even more lovely to own.

Racin' Rags has retired from breeding. Several adults are looking for good homes. Will not ship.
