Over the years we
have been showing Racin' Rags has been blessed with much success in the
Show Ring. We showed strictly CFF for many years as the shows were local
to the NE and because of the history of the breed there. CFF was one of
the first Cat Registries to accept the breed for Championship, meaning
they could win titles and awards. Before that they were just registered
and exhibited to expose them to the public and judges. The early
breeders showed and registered there. Denny and Laura Dayton and many
others who first bred and promoted this wonderful breed.
We joined RFC, Ragdoll Fancier's Club and Susan
was elected the Sec/Treas. Susan also became the Newsletter Editor and
later Pres of the Club. RFC held an annual then semiannual shows. This
being the only Ragdoll Club in the US to hold Allbreed sanctioned shows.
RFC gives awards at the end of the show year.
Our first award was for our altered female. Whisper-Paw Mocha Mystique.
Mocha later went on to become an Altered Master Grand Champion, the
highest title she could attain. She made a Top 20 Allbreed win for the
year she was shown She was then retired as we started to show our own
kittens and breeding cats.
From our first litter we kept a mitted female,
Racin' Rags Purr-o-lator. She went on to become RFC's Best Kitten. She
was followed by Racin' Rags The Bandit, her half brother and her half
sister Racin' Rags Miss Winston, who was CFF's 20th Best Kitten. Missy's
daughter, Racin' Rags Holly CFF's 5th Best AB Kitten. Holly is owned by
my parents who I was able to talk into showing their girl.
Our adult cats were also winners in the Show
ring. Racin' Rags The Bandit, became the first Ragdoll in the
Championship class to achieve the title of Master Grand Champion and
17th Best AB Cat in CFF. Until then only Alters had made this title. Our
Cattery also showed the first and still only mitted Ragdoll to attain
this title, Mst. Gr. Ch. Luvadoll Legend of Racin' Rags, Legend was also
10th Best Allbreed Cat.
Susan began her training as a judge in CFF
after meeting all the necessary requirements. She is also a certified
ring clerk. She had to take a break from judging due health problems.
We started to show in other Associations as we
had the time to travel as the kids grew up. We have shown in CCA, and
TICA.
Chatandolls Charlotte of Racin' Rags, a blue
colorpoint was the first kitten we traveled far to show. She loved to
travel and show and did very well for a female. She was the highest
scoring female kitten at the 2000 Ragdoll Congress in Las Vegas and was
the 3rd highest scoring Ragdoll kitten in her region behind two lovely
bicolors.
Catbird and CO Atlanta is 9th Best Cat in CFF,
as well as 14th Best kitten and Best of breed Ragdoll for the 2002-2003
show year.
Ana is now raising her first litter.
Also Racin' Rags Checkers or Wreckers and
Racin' Rags The Intimidator were 15th and 17th Best Kittens
respectively.
We have a new kid in town, Ragalong Rev It Up,
called Rusty as two of our older boys are being retired. We will be
hitting the road to some CFA shows with him as well as TICA and CFF
while I finish my training. His father is SGC Ragalong Rainforest
Regent, a handsome boy. We hope Rusty will follow in his paw steps.
We hope we continue to have some success in the
Show ring, but mostly we just have fun. Look for us if you are at a show
in the North East or Mid-Atlantic Regions where we show most often. |
